Governance
The BotSoc council is the custodian of our constitution. Council, which is member and branch elected on an annual basis, reports to members once a year at the end of September. Various Council standing Committees and the established branches around the country operate under the guidance of Council. Council is supported by a small core staff team headed by an Executive Director and operates from the historically important thatched cottage in Kirstenbosch Gardens.
Like our branch
structures, the Council is made up of hard working volunteers. The council
strives for a good combination of skills and practical know-how so that we
can provide the best possible service to the organisation.
As a non-profit public benefit organisation, BotSoc commits to serve its
members, volunteers, donors, partners and all the stakeholders in the wider
conservation field in SA with accountability, transparency and trust.
The council, staff and volunteers are committed to ensuring that the
organisation and its people continue to maintain the highest levels of
integrity.
