Volunteer Work

By becoming a volunteer, you become part of the BotSoc family.  The culture of volunteering is an important one for the society. Both the branches and interest groups are run by volunteers who work exceptionally hard to support the BotSoc mandate –

To win the hearts, minds and material support of individuals and organisations for the conservation, cultivation, study and wise use of indigenous flora and vegetation of SA.

Our branches are always in need of enthusiasts who can assist with projects and inspire others around them. The branches around the country offer various activities including alien removal, walks and talks, outings to places of interest, markets etc, where you can assist. Contact the branch near you to find out how you can get involved. In addition, our involvement with projects like CREW (Custodians for Rare and Endangered Wildflowers)  provides members with an opportunity to get their hands dirty in monitoring, searching for and ultimately conserving endangered wildflowers across the country.
